of Clarion Rehab) Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP (Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) are pleased to announce Seth Apel as April’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Seth is a senior at Keystone High School where he participates in baseball and soccer. Outside of school he works for his dad’s cabinetry business (Apel Woodwork), plays softball and attends youth group at his church. He enjoys numerous activities in his free time including hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, eating and joking around with his physical therapist. His favorite sports memory is joking with his teammates when they ask about his arm injury. He is constantly explaining to them that he doesn’t have much use of his right arm but they continue to ask a series of questions even though they have known him and his situation. The most inspiring people in Seth's life are his parents. Seth is currently enrolled in a course through the National Deer Association to become a certified quality deer management specialist. His future plans are to start his own business called Trinity Whitetails in which he educates outdoorsmen on how to improve their conservation and wildlife management strategies. Jameson is a sophomore at Clarion Area High School. He has achieved the honor roll every quarter, and he participates in soccer, basketball, track & field, Eagle Scouts, and youth group at his church. Jameson suffered a complete ACL tear on September 13, 2021 and had surgery on December 3rd. He performed his rehabilitation at Clarion Rehab Services and really stood out with his hard work, dedication and diligence. His team consistently commented on how well he conducted himself during the rehab process. He states that the most inspiring people in his life are his parents and his brother because they are so supportive of his interests and activities. Jameson's future plans are to attend college and continue to participate in sports. Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP (Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) are pleased to announce Jordan Best as February’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Jordan is a senior at Clarion Area High School. She has participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout her athletic career. She is also a member of National Honors Society, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, StandTogether and is the Vice President of the Senior Class. In her free time she is a member of the Pittsburgh Power Softball team, babysits and umpires. She also enjoys exercising, going to the gym, reading, knitting and taking naps. Her favorite sports memory is winning back-to-back State Championships with the Clarion Area volleyball team. She loves being an athlete and cherishes all the memories of playing sports. She states, “I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” The most inspiring people in her life are her parents. “I look up to them and love them both so much. They work so hard to give my sisters and I the best life. I hope to be like them some day.” Jordan’s future plans are to attend Gannon University to play softball and major in Applied Exercise Science in hopes of becoming a physical therapist. Bryson is a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School. He has participated in basketball and baseball as well as been a member of the Science Olympiad team. He enjoys hanging out with the boys and playing video games in his free time, especially Fortnite. His favorite sports memories are Hayden Callen throwing his socks out the bus window and winning two KSAC Championships with the Clarion-Limestone baseball team. The most inspiring people in his life are his parents. He states, “They are always there to support me and push me to become better in anything I do.” Bryson’s future plans are to attend St. Bonaventure University to play baseball and major in business. Tori is a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School where she participates in volleyball, cheerleading, track & field, dance team, sensations choir, and band. She is also a member of the Future Teachers of America club, Tri-M Music Honors Society, National Honors Society, Red Cross Club and Student Council. During her free time she enjoys crafting and cooking. Her favorite sports memories are winning the volleyball playoff game at Johnsonburg this year and making the State Cheer Competition last season. The most inspiring people in her life are her parents who support her in everything that she does and her aunt Donna, who was her best friend and taught her the important things in life. “Aunt Donna was a very strong woman, even when fighting cancer, and I strive to be as strong as her.” Tori’s future plans are to attend college to become an oncology nurse. Bret is a senior at Keystone High School where he participates in football, basketball and track. He is also a member of National Honors Society, SPARK Club, Trap Shooting Club, and Basketball Club. Outside of school he is a member of the Saint Michael Church in Fryburg and enjoys hunting, ice fishing, and trap shooting. His favorite sports memory is earning two playoff spots with the varsity basketball team his junior year. He states that the most inspiring person in his life is his older brother Nate, who continues to help him be the student and athlete that he is today. “I owe him a lot. Thanks for supporting me.” Bret’s future plans include a combination of military service and attending college to major in the field of environmental engineering. Ruby is a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School where she participates in volleyball, soccer and track as well as Science Olympiad, Red Cross Club, Foreign Language Club and National Honors Society. Outside of school she is involved in club volleyball and youth group at church. She also works at Gateway Lodge and Bish Auto Care. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends. Her favorite sports memory is when she successfully completed her first slide during volleyball. She states the most inspiring people in her life are her dad and brothers. “They are supportive of anything I do.” Ruby’s future plans are to attend college to major in biology and pre-med. She is also a member of Student Government, where she serves as president, ski club and is involved with her church. . Maddie’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. Maddie’s favorite sports memory is being able to compete in the District 9 Championship game last year at Clarion University.
Maddie’s future plans are to attend Clarion University and achieve a degree in Rehabilitative Science. After her undergraduate degree is complete, she would like to one day become an occupational therapist. Erica’s future plans are to go to college and play volleyball at a college/university yet to be decided. Her favorite sports memory is “winning the state championship and celebrating with the community.” Erica states the most inspiring people in her life are “my coaches because they have shaped me not only on the court, but to be a better person.” Erica would like to give her thanks for the athletic opportunities she has had and for her teammates who she feels she could not have achieved anything without. Braden is the Senior Class President and is also an Eagle Scout of Troop 51. His hobbies include running, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.
Braden’s future plans are to run cross country at the college level while pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at a college/university yet to be decided. Koby is a senior at Keystone High School where he participates in cross country, football, soccer, and track. He is also a member of piano club. His hobbies include running trails, working out, and hanging out with family and friends. Koby also works for Myers Water Wells assisting to dig water wells, and over the summer lifeguards for TTSR.
Koby’s future plans are to attend a college close to home to major in business, and in the future he hopes to start his own business. Koby also plans to continue running cross country and track in college. His favorite sports memories are “in 10th grade when he PR in the 800 and 1600 at Oil City, and qualifying for States a second time.” Koby states, the most inspiring people in my life are “his grandpa Terry and Grandma Norma who watch every race from above.” Koby would also like to thank his dad “for always having my back through the bad times and pushing me to both a better runner and person.” Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP would like to thank Sweet Basil and DE Sports, Inc. for sponsoring October’s CHAMP Student-Athlete of the Month.
