Clarion Rehab Services and the CHAMP Athletic Medicine Program are pleased to announce Brady Quinn as October’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Brady is a senior at Clarion Area High School where he has participated in football and track. He is a member of National Honors Society, Youth Council and is President of the Senior Class. In his free time, his hobbies include hunting, fishing and lifting. His favorite sports memory was this football season when he had a pick 6 interception versus Punxsy with Jase running behind him yelling that he better score. The most inspiring people in Brady’s life are his parents, who have pushed him to work hard and strive to be the best he can be in everything he participates in. Brady’s future plans are to attend Triangle Tech to become an electrician. Athletic Trainer; Emily Lubas, Director of Sports Medicine at Clarion Rehab) Clarion Rehab Services and the CHAMP Athletic Medicine Program are pleased to announce Sarah Cotton as September’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Sarah is a senior at Keystone High School where she served as the captain of the varsity girls soccer team this season. She has also participated in track and field, marching band, concert band and choir, the school musical, Keystone Youth Education Association, SPARK Club and is the secretary of the senior class, treasurer of Senior High Student Government, and the secretary of National Honors Society. Outside of school she is an active member of 4-H, and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and youth group. Her hobbies include horseback riding, playing the clarinet, violin and soprano saxophone as well as singing and reading. Her favorite sports memory is breaking her nose while playing soccer against Clarion this year and having to get it set back in place on the sideline. The most inspiring people in Sarah’s life are her coaches and her family. Sarah stated, “They push me to do my best in everything I do.” Sarah’s future plans are to attend an undecided college to obtain a degree in Elementary and Special Education. Clarion Rehabilitation Services and CHAMP(Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) would like to announce their 2022-2023 Co-Student Athlete of the Year as Kendall Dunn and Aiden Hartle. Kendall graduated from Clarion-Limestone High School this year where she participated in volleyball, basketball and softball throughout her high school career. Her future plans are to attend Pitt Bradford to become a physical therapist and will start her collegiate athletic career with the volleyball team while she is there. “Kendall was unfortunately sidelined from sports for most of this year due to injury, but she has been working hard behind the scenes to get back. She is such a dedicated person not only to sports but her academics as well. She is one of those people that if she puts her mind to something, it will most definitely be accomplished”, states Clarion-Limestone Athletic Trainer, Emily Lubas. Aiden graduated from North Clarion High School this year where he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams. His future plans are to attend PennWest Clarion to major in business management. While at Clarion, he will continue his athletic career with the baseball team. Clarion Rehab’s owner Seth Babington states, “Aiden has excelled in both the classroom and in the athletic arena. His teachers and coaches speak very highly of him. He is a hard worker who has performed well and I am excited to see him move on to the next level at PennWest Clarion.” CHAMP and Clarion Rehab Services would like to congratulate our two recipients. Both student-athletes received a $250 scholarship presented by Clarion Rehab as well as a gift certificate from Sweet Basil. Congratulations to both Aiden and Kendall. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Kaine is a senior at North Clarion High School where he participates in cross country and track. He is a member of National Honors Society, Junior Historians and Envirothon. He is also a member of the Governor's Youth Advisory Council for Hunting and Fishing and is a Junior Sportsman with the Clarion County Sportsmen for Youth. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, trapping and running. His favorite sports memories include medaling at the District 9 track meet and running in the State Cross Country Championships. The most inspiring people in his life are his parents. They are always pushing him to do his best and have taught him about everything he loves to do. Kaine’s future plans are to attend PennWest Clarion to major in Fisheries and Wildlife. Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP (Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) are pleased to announce Jordan Hesdon as February’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Jordan is a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School where he participates in golf, basketball, and baseball. He is also a member of the Academic Sports League. His hobbies include playing a variety of sports and hanging out with friends. Winning both the KSAC and District 9 boys basketball titles this year were his favorite sports memories of his high school career. The most inspiring person in his life is Coach Joe Ferguson. “He has taught me many life lessons outside the game of basketball that I can use throughout my life,” Jordan states. Jordan’s future plans are to attend Slippery Rock University to major in Marine Biology. Natalie is a senior at Keystone High School where she participates in volleyball, basketball and softball. She also is a member of the SPARK and Yearbook clubs at school. Her favorite sports memory is the basketball game this year where she scored both her 1000 career points and 1000 career rebounds on the same day. The most inspiring person in her life is her dad. She states, “He has always been supportive of everything that she does and has always been there through all the tough times in her life. He has been so strong through it all.” Natalie’s future plans are to attend an undecided college to obtain a bachelor's degree in business. She also hopes to play softball at the collegiate level. Aiden is a senior at North Clarion High School and is a member of the basketball team. He also participates in baseball in the spring. In his free time, he likes to go fishing, hunting and lift weights. His favorite sports memory is playing in the KSAC Championship game for the North Clarion basketball team at Tippin Gym last year. The most inspiring people in his life are his parents. He is thankful for them taking him to all his athletic activities and always being his biggest supporters. Aiden’s future plans include attending PennWest Clarion to major in Business Management and will continue his collegiate athletic career with the baseball team. Lubas, Clarion-Limestone’s Athletic Trainer) Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP (Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) are pleased to announce Ryan Hummell and Kendall Dunn as October’s Co-Student Athletes of the Month. Ryan is a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School where he has been a member of the Wildcat football team, basketball, track and field and baseball teams. Last year, he won 4th place at the PIAA State T&F Championships in javelin. In his free time, he works for M&B Services, hangs out with friends and family, lifts and plays sports. His favorite sports memories are the bus rides with his teammates to all the away games and going to states in track. The most inspiring people in his life are his Grandpa Myers and his brother Riley, who have helped him out and been there for him for everything. They have taught him many life lessons. Ryan’s future plans are to attend trade school to become an electrician. Kendall is also a senior at Clarion-Limestone High School where she has been a member of the volleyball, basketball and softball teams. She is also the President of the senior class, Treasurer of Student-Council and Co-President of National Honors Society. In her free time, she likes spending time with friends and hunting. Her favorite sports memory is playing in the D9 Championship games for both softball and basketball and moving on to the state playoffs. The most inspiring people in her life are her parents who are her number one supporters in everything she does as well as Sarah Meals who is always there to show her support. Kendall’s future plans are to attend Pitt-Bradford to become a physical therapist as well as continue her athletic career playing volleyball. Clarion Rehab Services and CHAMP (Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) are pleased to announce Kyle Nellis as September’s Student-Athlete of the Month. Kyle is a senior at Keystone High School where he is a member of the football, basketball and the track and field teams. In his free time he enjoys lifting, hunting, fishing, skiing, spending time with friends and going camping. He also works at Wolf's Camping Resort. His favorite sports memory is scoring a touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter against Brookville to help set up his team to win the game this season. According to Kyle, the most inspiring people in his life include his dad and his grandpa Bob. Kyle’s future plans include entering into the trades or finding an apprenticeship. Keystone’s Athletic Trainer; Bret Wingard; Jordan Best; Steve Seifert, Clarion Area’s Athletic Trainer; Seth Babington, Owner of Clarion Rehab) Clarion Rehabilitation Services and CHAMP(Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program) would like to announce their 2021-2022 Co-Student Athletes of the Year as Bret Wingard and Jordan Best. Bret is a recent graduate of Keystone High School where he participated in football, basketball and track. He was also a member of the National Honors Society, SPARK Club, Trap Shooting Club, and Basketball Club. Bret’s future plans are to attend the University of Mount Union to major in electrical engineering as well as be a member of their track and field team. Jordan graduated from Clarion Area High School this year where she participated in volleyball, basketball and softball. While at Clarion, she also was a member of National Honors Society, Student Council, Yearbook Staff and StandTogether. Jordan’s future plans are to attend Gannon University majoring in Applied Exercise Science in hopes of becoming a physical therapist. She also plans to participate on the softball team while at Gannon. Clarion Rehab’s owner Seth Babington states, “Both of these young adults are hard working, dedicated and successful. They are going to go on to do great things professionally and for their communities.” CHAMP and Clarion Rehab Services would like to congratulate our two recipients.
